Our vision is to create a cluster of memorable buildings appropriate to its spectacular Highland setting
The development will complement the surrounding landscape using a mix of traditional materials such as stone, timber and slate echoing its historic past while looking to the future. The planning application was granted in December 2018 for a hotel, farm shop, cafe, drive through bakery, food outlet, four retail units and fuel filling station – pulling on both local and national retailers and world renowned whisky brands – with one right on our doorstep.
The Concept Behind the Development
The management team including designers and architects, have developed the whole site with sustainability at the forefront of its thinking.
It will be built and managed economically and efficiently, including the heating which will be provided using a biomass boiler, electricity generating using photovoltaic solar panels on the roof (not visible from the ground) and a significant number of charging points for electric cars.
Hotel
Tomatin Trading Company is putting an experienced management team together to run the 99-bedroom hotel as a franchise through Holiday Inn Express, one of the top providers of this type of accommodation service in the UK.

River Cafe
The inspiration for the name derives from Findhorn River; its source high in the Monadhliath Mountains, 60 miles from the outflow at Findhorn on the Moray Firth.
Findhorn River Cafe will have a capacity of over 200, both inside and out and inherit the brand values of Scotland, namely Highest Product Quality; Sustainably Sourced; Assured Provenance; and Local Artisan Supply Partners.
The menu will have something to suit all paletes, local meat, fish and game mouth-wateringly cooked into an offering to suit young and old.
Quality, healthy wholesome food that can be prepared quickly will be on offer and we intend to make the very best quality “fastfood”.

Farm Shop
The shop will feature a food hall dominated by local produce and ready-to-eat food to meet the needs of consumers short on time and to capture ‘over-flow’ from the cafe.
The food retail concepts will be run by Tomatin Trading Company.
Highland Merchandising
In collaboration with local and national retailers Tomatin offers established businesses an opportunity to expand their offerings on a new site within one off our retail units, without having the outlay of build or renovation costs themselves.
They will be presented with a fully serviced unit in a sympathetic Highland setting, to optimise the promotion of their products.
The new Tomatin Trading Company development will complement the surrounding landscape using a mix of traditional materials such as stone, timber and slate echoing its historic past while looking to the future.
